Tried to begin painting my bathroom upstairs and ran into a peeling paint problem...
It wouldnt stop! It is currently being painted so the pictures for that will be posted shortly.
Next I started Painting my spare bedroom:
Yes this is a raspebery pink color...after all, every girl deserves their hot pink room...right?Then, with helpers, Jesse's spare room got painted:
Thats right, a black room...he is super excited to have this man cave. Now to address the ceiling. So these townhouses were built with radiant heating built into the ceiling. They appear as coils going back and forth across the ceiling. After the popcorn texture was scraped, it was very obvious. We got a quote for someone to come in and do it. After we picked our mouths up off the floor, we researched it and talked to some friends and found out we could do it for around $50. Lots of effort but possible.
Consultation with some friends: This is Papa Bolas
Now the training begins:
I have now been trained in how to apply mud and then texture to a ceiling and while I'm not very good at it, I'm a great assistant and scraper:
This is me filling the thingy with mud.....it is applied like a buttercream frosting and was quite fun to do. The scraping however was not fun.
Then when Jesse got home, I taught HIM how to do it! and his helper, Patrick.
And to mix the mud, you have to use the biggest Potato masher I've ever seen!!!!!
We currently have 3 rooms textured and the rest are in some sort of stage of
1) Mud added and smoothed
2) Texture added, knocked down to a flat surface and drying
3) Texture sanded a tad to take off the spikes
4) Primer added
5) Painted white
This is the texture design:
THEN the most fun thing happened....my appliances arrived!!!!!!!!
Shed prepped for Laundry room:
Washer/Dryer:
YES my dream washer dryer and thank you Home Depot for having your amazing sales right when I am in need and also demand a great price or I wont purchase!
Can't beleive I'm going to say this but I cannot wait to do laundry! (we'll see how long that last)
Then...Stove: Glass top
Next is my Fridge....my dream fridge......(much appreciated after a dinky tiny apartment fridge)
HA I know...what a tease right? Ok here is how it looks assembled:
And the inside:
And I'm not sure if anyone knew this (I didn't), that a person can stand in the bottom freezer drawer and they are that strong, so frozen foods that get very heavy are fine....the salesgirl was gonna get in it...she was dead serious saying it was part of their training that they were made to get in and stand!
The Dishwasher and microwave/hood vent are not yet installed and still wrapped in plastic. The installation should be Monday so you have to wait for those pictures!
Today began even more work. Jesse took out our sliding glass door. Its problematic because its easy to break into. Not something I am too comfortable with.
